Types of Sentences

There are different ways to express something. This difference is shown below:

Simple sentence has only one statement to make. There is normally only one verb in it.
  • You can climb the tree.
  • The broom is under the table.
  • Be a good boy.
  • Don't run on the grass.
Complex Sentence comes with an independent clause and a dependent clause.

  • He cannot hear because he is deaf.
  • The birds are happy because they are out of the cage.
  • The book is very interesting that is why you must read it.
  • They went to the principal because he had called them.
Declarative Sentence states a fact. It simply conveys what one wants to say without seeking answers in return.

  • You sing well.
  • India is not a small country.
  • I like the movie.
  • Ganges flow from west to east.
