Construct a Sentence

Make sentences of your own.
Start the sentence with a capital letter.
End the sentence with a full stop.
Select a subject for your sentence.
Say something about the subject. Give the sentence a predicate.

  1. Mark works hard.
  2. The door is locked.
  3. The dog is barking.
  4. Shanti has many dresses.
  5. Gauri loves to read.
  6. Tim is very naughty.
  7. Windy is late again.
  8. The serial is interesting.
  9. Pari speaks French fluently.
  10. Harry is my friend.
What are parts of a sentence?
A sentence may consist any of the following:
  • Noun
  • Verb
  • Helping Verb
  • Adjective
  • Adverb
  • Article
  • Preposition
  • Pronoun
  • Conjunction
  • Interjection
What is a transitive sentence?
In a transitive sentence, a verb has an object. Look at the following examples.

  • I saw a bird on the tree.
  • He sang a song in Punjabi.
  • They painted this picture.
  • He hit the ball.
  • Larry kicked the stone.
  • Rocky made this basket.
  • Danny had cake for breakfast.
  • Veena cleaned the plate.
